Accessibility Statement | ScreenDetect
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: January 1, 2026
ScreenDetect LLC ("we," "us," or "ScreenDetect") is committed to ensuring that our website (https://screendetect.com, the "Site") and web-based screen detecting suite (the "Service") are accessible and usable by all individuals, including those with disabilities, in accordance with applicable laws and standards. We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA success criteria, as well as requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) Directive (EU 2019/882), and EN 301 549 standards. This statement outlines our accessibility principles, features, limitations, feedback process, and ongoing efforts.
By accessing or using the Site or Service, you acknowledge that accessibility features are provided on an "as-is" basis, and we disclaim any liability for accessibility barriers or issues, consistent with our Terms and Conditions. We encourage reporting of concerns to help us improve.
Our Commitment
ScreenDetect is dedicated to digital inclusivity, recognizing that accessibility is a fundamental right and a core business value. We aim to create an equitable experience where users of all abilities—visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or otherwise—can independently access, navigate, and interact with our diagnostic tools (e.g., pixel testing, backlight bleed detection, and the Stuck Pixel Fixer) without undue barriers.
This commitment aligns with:
- WCAG 2.2 AA: Ensuring perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust content.
- ADA Compliance: Providing equal access for users with disabilities, as interpreted by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) final rule on web accessibility (effective April 2024, with ongoing enforcement in 2026).
- Section 508: For any federal interactions, ensuring non-discrimination in electronic content.
- Global Standards: EN 301 549 for EU users and the EAA for harmonized accessibility.
We conduct regular audits and remediations to uphold these standards, with a focus on low-vision users (e.g., via high-contrast modes) and those with motor impairments (e.g., keyboard navigation).
Accessibility Features Implemented
We have integrated the following features to enhance usability, tested with tools like WAVE, axe, and screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver). These apply across the Site and Service:
- Perceivable Content:
- Alternative text (alt text) for all meaningful images, diagrams, and AI-generated visualizations (e.g., pixel defect maps).
- Resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality or content.
- Sufficient color contrast ratios (at least 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) across UI elements, including diagnostic reports and the Stuck Pixel Fixer interface.
- Captions and transcripts for any embedded audio/video (e.g., tutorial guides), though our Service is primarily visual/text-based.
- Operable Interface:
- Keyboard-navigable navigation, forms, and interactive elements (e.g., upload buttons, emergency stop for pixel fixer) without requiring focus traps.
- Customizable focus indicators visible on all interactive components.
- No time limits on reading or interacting, except for optional session timeouts with warnings.
- Skip links and structured headings (H1-H6) for efficient screen reader navigation.
- Understandable Information:
- Clear, concise language at an 8th-grade reading level, with glossaries for technical terms (e.g., "backlight bleed").
- Consistent navigation and labeling (e.g., predictable menu structures).
- Error identification and suggestions in forms (e.g., "Please upload a valid image file").
- Robust Compatibility:
- Semantic HTML5 markup for better parsing by assistive technologies.
- ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) landmarks, roles, and labels where native HTML is insufficient (e.g., for dynamic AI results).
- Cross-browser testing (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and device compatibility (desktop, mobile, tablets).
- Support for common screen readers and magnifiers.
These features are prioritized for core functionalities like account creation, diagnostics, and subscriptions. For the Stuck Pixel Fixer, we include warnings for photosensitive users and keyboard-accessible stops.
Known Limitations and Third-Party Content
While we continuously strive for full compliance, we acknowledge that achieving 100% accessibility across all scenarios is challenging, particularly with evolving technologies like AI-driven outputs. Current or potential limitations include:
- Dynamic AI Content: Generated reports (e.g., pixel analysis visualizations) may occasionally lack perfect alt text due to real-time processing; we mitigate this with textual summaries.
- Third-Party Integrations: Embedded tools (e.g., payment processors like Stripe, analytics like Google Analytics, or social widgets) are selected for their accessibility but may not fully conform to WCAG 2.2. We monitor and request vendor remediations where possible.
- Experimental Features: The Stuck Pixel Fixer involves visual stimuli that could pose risks (see our Terms and Conditions for safety warnings); accessibility is enhanced via audio cues where feasible, but full compatibility for all disabilities is not guaranteed.
- Mobile Responsiveness: While optimized, some advanced gestures may not be fully keyboard-equivalent on touch devices.
We disclaim liability for any inaccessibility arising from user equipment, internet connectivity, or third-party content. Use of the Site and Service is at your own risk, and we are not responsible for any damages related to accessibility barriers.
If you encounter issues, please report them—we aim to address verified barriers within 30 days, prioritizing WCAG success criteria.
Feedback and Reporting Process
We value input from all users to refine our accessibility. To report issues, request accommodations, or suggest improvements:
- Email: hello@screendetect.com (Subject: "Accessibility Feedback or Issue").
- Details to Include: Description of the problem, affected URL/feature, assistive technology used, and screenshots (if possible).
- Response Time: We aim to acknowledge within 2–3 business days and provide updates on resolutions.
- ADA-Specific Complaints: For U.S. users alleging ADA violations, contact our designated ADA Coordinator at hello@screendetect.com. We will investigate and respond per DOJ guidelines.
Anonymous feedback is welcome. All reports are reviewed by our accessibility team, and we track progress in quarterly internal audits.
5. Ongoing Efforts and Compliance Monitoring
Accessibility is an iterative process at ScreenDetect. Our roadmap includes:
- Annual Audits: Third-party WCAG 2.2 AA conformance evaluations (e.g., using automated tools and manual testing with diverse user groups).
- Training: Regular sessions for developers and content creators on WCAG principles and inclusive design.
- Updates and Testing: Post-release testing for all major updates; integration of accessibility checks into our development workflow (e.g., via GitHub Actions).
- Conformance Reporting: We prepare an annual Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) or Accessible Conformance Report (ACR) summary, available upon request at hello@screendetect.com.
- User Involvement: Collaboration with disability advocacy groups and beta testing with assistive tech users.
We monitor evolving standards (e.g., potential WCAG 3.0 previews in 2026) and adjust accordingly. For the latest status, visit this page or contact us.
Thank you for helping us build a more inclusive digital space. ScreenDetect is here for everyone.
