Is the Initial Consultation free?
Yes. The Initial Consultation is a no-cost conversation about how your company currently handles employee devices and whether ScreenDetect can responsibly support the work. It is not a device operations assessment, detailed audit, or fixed-price proposal.
What is the Device Operations Assessment?
The device operations assessment is a paid $950 working engagement. It reviews your current environment—processes, devices, applications, roles, records, and missing procedures—and produces a recommended implementation approach plus a fixed Device Operations Setup proposal. Start with an Initial Consultation. We invite the assessment after reviewing your inquiry—it is not available as a self-serve purchase.
Is the assessment fee credited toward Setup?
Yes. The $950 assessment fee is applied in full toward your Device Operations Setup price when you sign the Setup agreement and pay the project deposit stated in the proposal within 30 calendar days of receiving it. It is not an additional charge on top of Setup. If you decide not to proceed or miss that window, the assessment fee remains non-refundable as payment for the completed assessment.
How is this different from managed IT?
Managed IT providers typically sell ongoing per-user coverage across a broader technology environment. ScreenDetect for Business provides fixed-price device-operations projects and employee-transition services—workplace IT focused on employee devices, access, onboarding, offboarding, and reassignment. If your organization needs monthly monitoring and a standing help desk, a managed IT provider is the better match. If you need device procedures and transitions without that retainer, start here.
Is Device Operations Setup required before New Employee Device Setup?
No. Device Operations Setup creates company-wide device procedures, standards, and records. New Employee Device Setup prepares one employee using a one-time approved checklist or existing standards. Ops is not a prerequisite for a single hire when requirements for that employee can be approved.
Do you collect or store our passwords?
No. Your team enters passwords and MFA challenges. We do not retain credentials, recovery codes, or shared secrets. If a step would require ScreenDetect to keep a password, that step is deferred until a safer method is available.
Is there a company-size limit?
No public headcount limit. Eligibility is based on whether employee-device work is handled by HR, operations, an office manager, or company leadership rather than dedicated internal IT staff managing employee devices. Many engagements fall in the 10–100 employee range, but smaller or larger organizations may still be appropriate.
Can a new company request urgent offboarding?
The $800 Urgent Offboarding option is limited to existing ScreenDetect clients or companies that have completed a device operations assessment, when the environment is known and an authorized administrator is available. First-time emergency offboarding is not currently offered.
Does offboarding include physical laptop return?
Third-party return shipping is billed at the provider’s current rate. ScreenDetect charges a separate $75 coordination fee when return coordination is requested. ScreenDetect does not operate warehouses or certified destruction facilities.
When is payment due?
Payment is requested after the included work for that engagement is confirmed. The Initial Consultation has no cost. The $950 device operations assessment is a separate paid step used to prepare a fixed Setup proposal—not open-ended hourly consulting.
